Ice maker hookup kit, it's free shipping made easy
The connections worked flawlessly, the only problem I had was the PEX supplied was not long enough as I had to run the PEX from one side of the kitchen in the basement to the other, but for 8 dollars I picked up a 1 piece 25ft section that solved the problem.
Thanks for a great kit! It took us an hour to install because of where the waterline was in the basement and because of obstacles under the refrigerator in the basement. Couple things - I needed more than the included 10ft of pex piping.
No fuss, no muss, no leaks! I'd been needing a new line for the refrigerator ice maker, but was not anxious to deal with the usual soldering. When I purchased my new refrigerator I knew there was no existing water line to hook up for the ice maker.
The how-to video found on homedepot. But it does and it is so easy to install.
I love this thing! SharkBite is a great product. Replaced my old self puncture saddle valve to this kit to increase the water pressure in the fridge water dispenser.
Used a pair of pliers for a little more torque than what I could get with my fingers. How can this actually work?
I really couldn't wrap my h This is not my first plumbing project with sharkbite fixtures. I had trouble finding the right size locally but eventually found it online.
About This Item
I would highly recommend that you watch the video on the Home Depot website which clearly chows exactly how Dating of pauls conversion install the water line.
I purchased this ice maker kit because I had the old type of connection that pierced the copper pipe, which I never fully trusted, but more importantly, our new LG frig did not have enough water pressure for the Ice maker hookup kit dispenser in the door.
Installation took less than 30 minutes, even though I tricked it out a little bit with an exterior ice-maker water filter. Water on, purged air from the line s.
Water off, ran the cutter around the old penetration on both sides. No saddle valve to fail, no copper tubing bend and plant of peace of mind with no leaks after a year.
Love the complete kit - no need to call a plumber or solder, or use an unsafe saddle valve. My brother suggested the Sharkbite system which he had recently used to run a waterline in his garage.
Well this not only gave me a safer connection, but increased the overall water pressure to where it totally solved the problem. Well worth the money and is easy to use, once you get the hang of pushing them onto the pipe.
I am not fond of plumbing work, but this is so easy to install! It solved that issue. Collecting tools to finishing cleanup was about an hour.
This kit does the job without solder - just cut 2" out of the cold water line, clean up the ends, and slip things together.
